doesn't play nice with SPSS
Reported by Tom Smedley | April 20th, 2009 @ 10:42 PM
I generated a comparison report in the .xls format, then tried to open it in SPSS. SPSS did not recognize the format. So, I opened in in Lotus 1-2-3, and resaved the report in a number of formats that SPSS claims to recognize -- .xls of various vintages, .wk* of various vintages, and even tab-separated ASCII. No joy.
Thanks!

Strange. Perhaps you could send me the file (conjugateprior at users dot sourceforge dot net should do it) and a note of which version of the Yoshikoder you are using (from the About menu).

This is embarrassing. Turns out that when you want to open a data source in SPSS, you need to go to the "Open Database" menu. Even if the data source you want to open is a spreadsheet, rather than a database.
SO -- if you don't mind thinking of a spreadsheet as a database, SPSS will import Yoshikoder data without any problems.
My bad. RTFM would have solved the problem before I troubled you.
(BTW -- that's why nerds make the best lovers: they rtFm!)

Good to hear it all worked out.
