Unified Dictionary Report Does Not Use Dictionary Weights

Reported by Roseanne McManus | March 15th, 2012 @ 12:25 AM

When I request a unified dictionary report, the dictionary scores produced for each document do not take into account the weights of the dictionary entries. Instead, the scores produced are just an unweighted count of the dictionary words.

When I create dictionary reports for one document at a time, the dictionary weights are utilized correctly, so I don't think there is anything wrong with the dictionary itself.

It's true, and weights are going away altogether actually. The semantics were always too nasty and people got confused about which weight overrode which weight and why that changed when you moved the categories. The other concern was that more frequent words would simply raise category score totals in the absence of any frequency normalization, and it was not obvious or rather problem specific what the normalization quantity should be. The good news, at least for category weights, is that you can always apply them to the report after it's been created.
